Who are you?
My name is Namiin Stone and I am a thirty year old erotic romance author and illustrator who resides in the Western half of the United States. I live with my husband, two amazing friends, and a truckload of animals. Most of the animals either have no legs...or eight legs. :)
Why father/daughter incest romance?
Because it's what I want to read, and I've never seen anyone else write what I want to read within this niche. Which is, more often than not, a specific fetish niche that is mostly populated by short erotica scenes that have no wider romantic elements, plot, story structure, or unique characters. Or the kind of age difference I want to see. Or the kind of dynamics I want. Or the desperate slow burn I want to read. Or the--
You get the picture, lol. So I'm writing what I want to see, sharing it, and hoping that other folks like it too.
What else do you do?
Beyond writing and illustration and everything that goes with that, I like to play with CSS and HTML. I built this website from scratch using raw CSS and HTML--I don't use a website builder and I probably never will. Coding for me is a fun, entertaining puzzle, and I often want to push the boundaries of what I know with it.
Sometimes I play videogames, like Slime Rancher or Stardew Valley. Most of the time I'm either reading romance novels, listening to video essays about videogames and TV shows I've never played and will never watch while I paint, or I'm watching horror movies with my husband.

Did you go to art school?
I did, over ten years ago now. I went to a classical atelier school, which was a mix of Russian, French, and Italian training techniques. As for the usual follow-up to that kind of question: Would I recommend school? That depends entirely on someone's individual situation. It helped me, but your mileage may vary, and I can't say for certain whether or not you'd get much out of a more traditional art school experience.
Do you take commissions?
My commissions are indefinitely closed while I assess a backlog that's a few years old at this point. Still, if you're curious about my prices and what I offer, check out my commission page. If you don't see a style or a kind of commission type on that page, then I don't offer it, sorry. No exceptions.
What brushes do you use?
I only use two to three brushes and a modified blur tool with some texture in it, and a couple other ones for smoke/dust particle effects. Most of what you see in my paintings is a manual build-up of texture that happens because of how I use the brushes, not the brushes themselves. If you're curious about my brushes, you can always shoot me an email and I can send you a ZIP file.
What is your art setup?
This screen tablet mounted on a monitor arm attached to my desk, along with two other monitors--also attached to my desk via arms--and Clip Studio Paint. I also use Blender and Daz Studio a lot.
Can you teach me how to do X or Y?
No. Teaching someone is a full time job in and of itself. I can point you in the direction of things that can help you teach yourself. Folks like Proko, Marco Bucci, Aaron Blaise, and James Gurney are good places to start, and have helped me in my artistic journey in very tangible ways. If you want an insight into my process in specific, you can check out my Gumroad page, or subscribe to me on SubscribeStar for that.
Who are some of your art inspirations?
The late H.R. Giger is a huge inspiration to me, even if that's not exactly reflected in my day-to-day body of work. I'm going on a 22+ year-long love affair with the Alien franchise, and Hans Rudolf Giger is intrinsic in that sordid affair. Some that are probably closer to my body of work are contemporary artists--some living, some dead--like David Palumbo, Dave Dorman, Anders Zorn, J.C. Lyendecker, Luis Royo, Frank Frazetta, John Singer Sargent. Many, many more that I am forgetting, I'm sure of that.
